The first week of May (May 5 to 11) marks the annual Emergency Preparedness Week. This year the theme is Are You Ready? This theme focuses on the importance of personal and family preparedness for emergencies before they happen.
Residents should keep up to date on important information, such as extreme weather and floods that may impact you and your family. Residents are also encouraged to be prepared to cope on their own for the first 72 hours of an emergency while rescue workers assist those who require immediate attention.
